For some, it’s a rare occurrence. For others who are chronically late, it’s almost a daily thing. You wake suddenly to find that you’ve missed your alarm and you are late, very late! It happens to the best of us at least occasionally, so it’s a good idea to have an emergency plan in place that can help you get out the door quickly while still presenting a well-groomed appearance. That’s what we have for you today- a plan to get your hair styled in record time, even if you don’t have time to dry it!
French Twist
A classic French twist is always a great hairstyle for the office, and the bonus here is that it’s easier to get a sleek, smooth twist when your hair is damp. Simply shower, get dressed, and do everything else you need to do to get ready while allowing your hair to partially air dry. Just before you dash out the door twist your hair up, pin it into place, and spritz with hairspray to keep it in place all day.
Braids
Simple braids can do double duty. They can give you a polished look for work while concealing the fact that your hair is still wet, and then after leaving them in overnight, they will give you lovely loose waves the next day. Not only that, but braids work for the office and for a casual shopping day with friends. Simply pin the braids up for a professional appearance and then let them down before heading out on the town.
Buns
Buns are both versatile and easy. A classic bun can be styled wet or dry for a professional look. Add interest by braiding your hair first or leaving some curls loose. If your hair is dry you can also opt for a messy bun, but you will want to accessorize with a ribbon around the base, a pearl or rhinestone comb tucked in the side, or a few sprigs of flowers here and there to keep it looking intentional and neat enough for the office. Otherwise, you will look like you just rolled out of bed, which you’re trying to keep a secret.
Pinned Back
A comb, a couple of pretty barrettes, and a minute are all you need for this polished hairstyle. Simply comb your hair and part it down the center, or on the side if you prefer, and pin each side back with a barrette. This is a great way to deal with unruly bangs or long layers that refuse to cooperate. If you have a few extra minutes twist the sections that you are pinning back to add a bit of interest.
Effortless Waves
If you are among the chronically late, changing up your bedtime routine can make mornings much easier. Before going to bed part your hair down the center, give your strands a spritz of spray gel, and then braid each side to the tips. By morning your hair will be dry and set. All you will have to do to style it is take down your braids and gently finger comb. You will have effortless waves that last all day.
Scrunch It
Another easy way to add some waves and texture to your hair is to scrunch it. Add a bit of mousse to slightly damp hair and scrunch it well. Put on a wide headband, spritz with hairspray, and simply allow your strands to finish air drying on your commute. No one will even suspect that you styled your hair in a hurry.
